24/7 Emergency Support

24/7 Psychiatric Emergency Support & Pharmacy

When the situation cannot wait — we answer the phone, and we admit when needed.

Round-the-Clock Crisis Intervention

Most psychiatric clinics operate during business hours. Crises don't. MetroMind operates a 24/7 psychiatric emergency line and in-house pharmacy at our Kalamassery campus — because the moments when families need help most are often the moments other clinics are closed.

If you are unsure whether the situation is an emergency — call anyway (+91 73068 08867). Our clinical team will help you assess. There is no penalty for an unnecessary call.

Severe panic or anxiety attacks

Persistent attacks that don't resolve, especially when accompanied by chest pain, hyperventilation, or absolute terror.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take a psychiatric patient to a general hospital ER or call MetroMind?

If there is also a medical emergency (overdose, injury, suspected stroke) — go to the nearest general ER first. For purely psychiatric crises — call MetroMind. Our staff is trained specifically in psychiatric emergencies, which most general ERs are not.

Will the patient be involuntarily admitted?

Our default is voluntary admission with patient consent. Involuntary admission is rare and follows strict legal protocols under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 — used only when the patient lacks capacity and is at imminent risk.

Can I bring a patient who is refusing treatment?

Yes — call us first to discuss. We will guide you on how to approach the situation. In genuine emergencies (active suicidal behavior, psychosis) we have legal pathways for emergency evaluation.

Is the emergency line free?

Yes. There is no charge for calling our emergency line, regardless of whether admission follows. We do not charge for emergency phone consultation.

Do you accept emergency cases from outside Kochi?

Yes. We accept emergency admissions from anywhere in Kerala and beyond. Call first so we can coordinate the admission and prepare for arrival.
